Roundtable Discussion Groups

The TimeSlips Project created a model for two-hour roundtable discussions whose aims are to:

  • To generate discussion about how to more fully integrate the creative arts into personal and professional care for people with dementia.
  • To bring together people whose associations with dementia care differ widely, from administrators to personal caregivers, from funders to students of social work and art therapy.
  • To capitalize on the momentum of the meeting by suggesting future directions for those interested in arts and dementia care, and by following up with a synopsis of the proceedings mailed to all attendees.

Questions we address include:

  • Do we find the arts valuable in dementia care?
  • How/why?
  • What are the obstacles to implementing the arts in dementia care?
  • How might these obstacles be overcome?
