Teaching Women how to Gamble
With a Seven Showing They Already Know How
They are farmers' daughters and longtime friends.
Their names are Margaret and Helen. Or Jane and Sue.
They are wearing long dresses, square dance dresses.
You wouldn't wear a square dance dress to a casino said G.
They're shooting craps-watching a game.
They've been working all day and playing all day and
they're tired.
Taking the house for all they're worth said M.
They are cleaning the house before they have their friends over.
What do you think they're doin? Playing shuffleboard and trying
to think of a name for it.
Playing that crazy game-shooting craps-that's what they're doing.
Trying to win some big money, otherwise they'll go home hungry.
That's where their old man's money went.
Their husbands are in a nursing home said F.
That's why they have big smiles on their faces.
They won new cars said B.
I don't know what billiards are-I never played.
They won money.
The way the dice look now I don't think it'll come up seven.
Afterwards they'll have a beer. They will take their Tylenol
for body aches.
They'll brag to their neighbors how much they won.
They'll rest a long time, hide their money then spend their money.
That's why you go to those gambling joints-to spend money.
They won a couple of hundred.
They're pretty excited, not frowning.
It's hard to tell. That ain't much.
He's the old pro. I could be nasty and say old crow-
like Old Crow whiskey!
The story ends when the rescue squad saves them and
they live happily after.
They'll be back-they look excited.
They were just getting into that game.
OK Margaret-let's go to bed said M.
F replies, "OK Margaret, stay out of my bed."
They're having a good time. They aren't crying.
