In the Good Old Summertime
In the Good Old Summertime, John and Mary are pitching a tent. More to the point, John and Mary are trying to pitch a tent, but we are not sure whether it is going up or down.
They are having a shot at it and they seem to be happy because they are grinning. One of them is wearing a bowler hat and the other is leaning on a post.
There is a big dog in the foreground – either that or it is a man with a helmet.
The tent-pitching is going kinda slow. It isn’t easy. You really need four people to do it well. They may have problems with the weather.
They’ve been on the highway and are in a campground. They’ll have fun in the sun and then have a fire in the fireplace. They’ll need to look for something to eat. Perhaps they will roast marshmallows and look at the stars before it is time for bed.
There really should be music present. We’d sing “In the Good Old Summer Time”.
