Baby Standing in the Crib

This baby's name is Susie Ann Phillips. She is about 2 and a 1/2 or 5 years old. She's a little boy--who is bald and smiling. She has black and green eyes. Susie is thinking about the story.

It's 1935 in Peshtigo, Texaco. It's summer--warm weather--because Susie has on short sleeves. Susie is so glad to be in the bag. She is happy. She is saying, "Come join me!" But she wants to get out of the bag because she will have more fun.

Susie's parents are enjoying the baby. Her mother's name is Susan Irene. She's five feet two inches and has blonde hair. Her eyes are blue. She weighs 70 or maybe 170 pounds. "Oh mother. Oh my God," says Lillie. Susan Irene bakes cookies for a living. She's a mean cookie baker. She bakes vanilla cookies. "That's a good idea. Pass them around!," says Irv. She also makes chocolate chip cookie. They enjoy the chocolate chips--playing with them and eating them.

Behind, there's a door to an attic where there's a sled and also trunks. Susie's father is out working. He does public work on cars. Father could be up in age. He's about 70 or 74. Father's name is Amos Mitchell. That's a possibility. He's a good-looking man with a beard and glasses and a mustache. He has dark hair, is about 5'11" and weighs 190 pounds. "O-o-o-o!" says Willie.

They live in a nice house. "I'll go along with that" says Willie. The house is a gray two-story. The front yard has grass and nice trees. It has a black fence around it, like we had. There are ten houses way up--one right after the next. That's the way it was.

It is evening. The baby is sitting in what looks like a suicase--a brown one. She'll sit there so they don't lose her. She's a fast little girl. She doesn't know any better, that she will grow up and want to be like Daddy.
