With the support of grant funding, TimeSlips is recruiting 10 Community-Engaged Artists to engage isolated older adults in Milwaukee County through our new project, Tele-Stories.
Tele-Stories invites elders into creative and engaging conversations led by artists of all media, from the comfort of their own homes. The TimeSlips Tele-Stories project aims to reduce the negative impact of isolation, made worse by COVID, on those who are living alone. Artists will be trained in the TimeSlips methodology and will learn how to lead creative conversations and exercises via phone.
Because the need for engagement is dire, we anticipate a very short recruitment/selection period. Artists will need to be dependable, resourceful and thrive in a virtual, team environment. Due to grant restrictions, please note that artists must live in the city of Milwaukee. Once selected, artists will be trained in TimeSlips and paired with 10 Milwaukee elders living alone to connect with remotely. Artists will be asked to work 20 hours per week for 14 weeks.
Application materials, as outlined in the job description, should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by July 5th.
