The boy's name is Luis; he is 13 years old and so cute! He came with his family from Spain to live in Mexico. He spends his day playing the accordion, because that's the only thing he knows how to play and he hopes to make some money in his bowl. He sits on the corner of 44th and This & That Blvd. in the front of the Woolworth Store. People pass by and request songs such as; "I've Been Working on a Railroad", "Hop, Skip & a Jump", "I Love You Truly", "Amazing Grace", & "Bicycle Built for Two". His dog Terry is an Irish setter who does all kinds of tricks, rolling over, tap dancing & the Shag. Sometimes people put money in his bowl, but other times they put candy, fruit, Sour Kraut and a can of soda. His family is out of money. Some of his family plays the piano that was passed down to them, the harmonica, the horns, guitar, bells and maracas. He's raising money for his family. The weather is hot with high humidity. He's getting hungry smelling popcorn, hamburgers, hot dogs, candy, cookies baking and pizza fresh out of the oven! As he sits he sees his friends playing hop scotch, catch ball, riding their bikes and wheel barrel races, he so wants to join them! Suddenly he hears a loud horn blaring and startled he falls back with a loud noise coming from his accordion. Someone stops and puts a big Mars bar in his bowl, his dog barks, wagging his tail & grabs the bar chomping it down quickly! A couple stops by who are getting married and request he play a love song. He looks in his bowl and decides to stop at the store on the way home to buy bread and milk for his family. His mother Rosa will be so happy!
