A Day on the Farm
There's a girl playing with baby pigs. Her name is Amy. She's in the barn with three pigs (Mary, Lora, and Melvin) and a mamma pig. The farm is in Racine, Wisconsin.
Amy is having fun. She's smiling and rubbing on the little pig. She knows they will slaughter one when they get big. She wonders how it will taste.
The little pigs (Mary, Lora and Melvin) are thinking about playing. It's playtime! They will take naps when the girl leaves.
Amy will go to the house and wash her face and hands and have lunch. A peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a glass of milk. Then she will take a nap.
Her parent are going to the dance. Amy can't stay alone. She's only 5 or 6. You wouldn't leave a child that age at home alone. Her parents get the neighbors daughter to babysit.
Amy will show the babysitter the baby pigs and tell her their names. They will have enough to talk about. Later, the babysitter will read to her. Maybe she'll read "The Three Little Pigs," and
