Lou Esther. She just wants to get on the board so she can get procedures. She doesn’t want to be left alone. She is from way down south, Jackson, MS and Louisiana. When the Japanese burned Pearl Harbor there was nowhere to go so they go down south. Lou Esther could have been involved; they just want to make some noise. They got some can and made music. Lou Esther plays cowboy music, Woody Herman played jazz. She’s a hero! Anytime you can take a can and get a group and make music you’re a hero! Get a piano, a xylophone and you’ve got a band. They went all around the country. In her band was Ella Fitzgerald and a Christian lady, I don’t know her name. Lou Esther is on the ball, all she needs is about three more people and she’s got a band and some of the big shots will turn it into a band and get some money and anybody they can find. They made up their own music, got on the corner and made up music and a white guy came along and put it into operation and then went around the world, went to England. Lou Esther and the band hit the road and doing some be-bop! She’s going to up-state New York after this cause it’s the largest state in the United States. Yeah, she’s got a family. She got hooked up with a man so he could make some money. They didn’t love each other. Lou Esther looks like Shirley Temple but Shirley Temple is dead. Lou Esther is 20 years old and she’s got a girl named Thompson. Its 1930, it’s a long season up in New York. It stays hot all year long. They walk around with clothing on front and back to be popular. They dance the jitterbug. I used to but now I got old and can’t do it anymore! I used to dance the Suzie-Q, the Applejack, and the Huckle-Buck: three steps forward, three steps back, you jump up in the air and catch your hands. Lou Esther is getting paid too: about $1,300 a year. “Hit the road Jack, and don’t you come back no more, no more, no more, no more, hit the road Jack and don’t you come back no more – what you say!? “ Lou Esther is going to go to California, Arizonia and even to Dulaville, MS.
