A Halloween Cause
A Halloween Cause
This takes place outside a school, on a cloudy day in New York in October, Halloween.
The woman, let’s call her Linda, No Matilda, why Linda asks Ray, because I like it answers Charles.
It’s across the street from a public school. Linda or Matilda has a mask in her hand. Is that a mask or just sunglasses askes Norma. I think it’s a mask because there are strings attached to it. Norman continues to respond by saying a mask covers more of the face not just the eyes and she’s sitting in a wheel chair.
Linda or Matilda is probably collecting money. And how do I know because it looks like the school my girls went to says Gloria.
Ethel say’s it’s around 3:00, yes I figured late afternoon, we don’t know we’re surmizing.
Does she have a Daug? Asks Charles. I think she’s too young to have a daug. Oh no I don’t think so. Charles askes, Does she have a dog not a daug.? A dog! Yes!
Well the shirt Linda or Matilda is wearing is interesting, it says “ A quaint little drinking town with a hurricane problem” says Norma. Maybe New Orleans, Because they had a hurricane and she’s wearing an outfit that looks like a costume. Yea, Halloween. It’s not really a costume, it’s a strange headdress. Looks like streamers.
How old is Linda or Matilda? Asks Charles. She doesn’t look so young, - Gloria says 70’s, and Ethel responds yes I would say 70’s. Nobody else is in the picture, she looks happy and she’s smiling at someone, a passerby. I hear laughter, probably a horn and it’s across the street from a public school. She’s waiting for her grandchildren to come home.
Charles says she’s beautiful. Her smile makes her beautiful. Ethel and Norma do not think she’s beautiful. Norma says she’s pleasant looking.
It looks cold outside, it looks like snow. She is collecting money for the school because the school needs it. The school will buy supplies – paper, pencils, erasers, crayon, Chalk. Parents and passerbys are giving her the money. Donations. She goes back upstairs with the money and puts it in a canister to give to the school. What are they going to do with the money? They will give it away to somebody else, NO says Gloria, school supplies, maybe a new desk, a chair. She gives the money to the principal. It’s better to stay home and do other things says Anna. But the school needs money.
She feels happy, and is smiling. She donates the money to school – says Good Night and goes home. She’s a very poor woman and is greatful to have something to do.
