A Summer Night

His name is Sam Santanelli. He's at the local bar in Waukesha on Main Street. He is in the alley trying to attract customers. Sam plays polkas.
Sam was part of the Lawrence Welk band, but they let him go because he wasn't quite that great.
However, he did find another job. He was successful collecting change from the customers going in and out. He said, "here's lookin' at you, Lawrence. I'm going to play 'Lady of Spain' and 'Flight of the Bumblebee.'"
Lawrence Welk is in there. Sam couldn't believe that Lawrence would come to Waukesha just to see him! Lawrence is there for Friday Night Live near Martha Merril's. Sam wants to get a proposition from Lawrence to pay his travels with the band.
We can hear people clapping their hands, excited by the music. We can see the Irish Dancers dancing. It's warm summertime, mid-July. There's lots of people with the booze flowing. We hear 'Lady of Spain' playing, and Lawrence Welk likes that song so he said, "Sam, I need you back."
Sam discussed the job with Lawrence and he said, "OK. I like fast music, and getting a crowd of people." Then Sam promised to work harder and stay away from bar rooms.
