What is the greatest gift you ever received?
Resident: I guess my four front teeth was the greatest gift I ever received.”
Colleen : When did you receive it?
Resident: I was a junior in college.
Colleen: What did it feel like?
Resident: To begin with it was infected, so they gave me surgery and it was right before Christmas, so everyone in the hospital went home, and the next day I went home. I guess it was the day before Christmas they drove me home. It was embarrassing because the four front teeth were gone.
Colleen: It was embarrassing to you because your teeth were gone. What else happened?
Resident: I was so far behind in my classes, but somehow or another I got it all in and managed to graduate.
So here they gave me a partial plate; its kind of a mess but I wear it anyway. There was just one infected but they pulled two, to make them match I think. Thank heavens for insurance.
Colleen: Wow, I learned a lot about what it might be like to have teeth replaced. That’s a gift for me!
