Kenny and his family have paid a visit to New Orleans, LA. They are taking a tour at a nature center in Baton Rouge on their way back to Texas. It is a cloudy day, which helps given that the summer heat has been unbearable. The air smells moist, perhaps because of the swamps. Or it may be hinting at an incoming rain. A toad suddenly appears. Next to it are several bushes, and slightly farther away there is a swamp. Emily, the granddaughter, points at it with excitement and joy. The family approaches slowly so as to not scare it away. Surprisingly, the toad sits idly, not seeming to be afraid of the humans. Brian, Kenny's son and Emily's father, asks the family if they want a picture of the toad. Emily says that she wants to take a picture with Kenny holding the toad. Kenny picks the toad up, and the toad apparently does not mind. Emily takes a picture. The family rejoices at how easily this has been done. Kenny lets the toad go, and it goes back to sitting idly again. The family waves goodbye at the toad and takes off. When Emily turns her head back to look at the toad once again, however, the toad is nowhere to be seen.
