In the summer of 1945, there was a great big family get together. Many family members lived out state,so in order to accommodate them, the celebrations would last for several days. On this particular day it was a extra warm and sunny. Grandma Louisa and grandson Anthony were enjoying the festive dance. They were dancing to celebrate the end of the war. They were filled with glee, happiness, joy, and relief. All the women were happy because their men were coming home. We were so happy that we all went over to Tony's house and got drunk because there was free beer and wine and whiskey and gin and kool-aid for the kids. Tony also served spaghetti and Italian pastries. It was a night we would never forget.
