His name is Chad. Chad is about 4 years old. He's a handicapped child. He's going by grandma's house. Grandma's house is in West Bend, Wisconsin. Chad takes a suitcase to school so he can take his suitcase to grandma's house. He's leaving school. He's gone down this route many times with his parents or at least one of his parents. He told them he knows where to go because he's been there many times and he shows them how to get there. He walks while his parents follow him in a car because he wants to get there by himself. It's one block to grandma's house from the school. It's just the right temperature outside- 36 degrees. Chad has a light-weight jacket on and short pants. No mittens. He's freezing. He's taking his suitcase to stay overnight and he just might be there for awhile. Grandma's got cookies baked already. They're probably going to play Checkers. He's going to take a walk around grandma's house to see if things changed since he's last been there. He was there a month ago. They like to slide down the hills in the winter. Winter is coming soon. When they got to grandma's house, they had cookies and milk. Chocolate chip cookies. Chad's favorite. He ate all the chocolate chips out of the cookies. Grandma already knew that he would do that. Grandmas don't get upset. They decided to play a game. Chinese Checkers. Chad lost, got upset, and stomped out of grandma's house. Chad went walking to his parents house. Grandma followed him. Then he felt sorry for grandma and thought she was crying, so he thought they should go back to make grandma happy again. They had some more chocolate chip cookies and milk. Then it was time to put the food away and grandma said she'll play chinese checkers again with him. Just one game. Then it was time for him to go to bed.
