Her name is Emma. She is feeding the chickens and little bitty ones.
Emma lives in the country on a farm.
She is spreading the chicken scratch out and putting them away for the night. Or she is taking them for a walk.
The whole family of John Brown lives on the farm.
She is gathering up the eggs before she feeds the chickens. She could be cleaning up where their nests are.
You put the chickens away at night so the animals don't get them.
They may wander away.
Snakes can bite them and get their eggs.
After she feeds the chickens, it's bedtime for the chickens.
Emma is going to bed too.
First she is going to milk the cow.
She loves her life on the farm.
(side comments - LIved on the farm my whole life. Born and raised in the cotton patch.)
Emma's house is in back. There's a porch swing there. Chickens come up on the porch all day long.
Mother is probably cooking. The family is in the house getting ready to go to bed.
The family picks cotton. They get the cotton and take it to the gin and get the seeds out. It is baled with lint to make 500#'s. They run it through the machines to make a square bale.
Thye sell it for money.
