It's holiday season! The mailman, who's name is Leo, is delivering packages and Christmas cards. There is snow on the ground and a wreath on the door. In the background is another house. It looks like Leo is trying to figure out where he is going to deliver all the packages, and if he has the right address. It does seem to make him happy to be delivering all the Christmas cards and gifts.
In one hand he has an airmail letter. This one is from a serviceman. This house belongs to the Smiths. They have four children, two boys and two girls. The oldest is 18. His name is Patrick. He is in the Army and is stationed in Germany. He won't be home for Christmas this year.
The second oldest is 16. Her name is Amy Christine. She misses her brother, but is still happy that it's Christmas. The third oldest is Laura and she is 10, and her younger brother, Jim, is 7. He is the baby of the family.
Their parents, Tom and Marcia, are a bit sad this year because their whole family can't be home for Christmas, but they are grateful that Patrick is heathly and is with good chums for the holidays.
The Smiths are planning to have their families over for the holidays. they will celebrate on Christmas Eve. Tom will take Laura and Jim with him to cut down a tree a few days before Christmas.
The kids will all work on decorating the tree. Marcia is busy baking and getting food ready. She would like Amy Christine to help, but Amy is being lazy this year. She wants to be with her friends and her boyfriend instead. Laura is trying to help her mother. She is learning alot.
Pretty soon the family will be there. Hugs and kisses for all.
