Dinner
It’s in America! In Texas! It’s in Dallas, Texas, out in the country. It’s in the early 1900’s and it’s near midday. He is checking his sights, but he doesn’t have the gun in the right position. He’d be shooting aeroplanes like that. His name is Billy Fred. There is another bloke just off the to left. We can see his foot. His name is Charlie.
Billy Fred is a farmer. It is arid country. There is a donkey and he has a herd of them. There is a big water trough or something to hold hay. He is drilling for oil! He is no good at what he does, he doesn’t look wealthy and he is too clean. He doesn’t even look like an American - there is no 10 gallon hat. He is not playing tennis but he has tennis shoes on. He has a wife and 6 kids. He is a young man, his wife and kids love him but think he is a very bad farmer because it is an untidy farm.
It looks Mexican. We hear the birds and the donkeys “He-Haw, He-Haw, He-Haw”. We hear the screech of a hawk, that is what he is aiming at definitely. We hear chooks “cock-a-doodle-do. cluck, cluck, cluck” for the hens. He pulls the trigger. Did he hit it or did it hit him? That is the mystery.
