Evelyn is a little 6-8 year old girl,
smiling and looking happy. She’s adorable.
Evelyn is on her grandparent’s farm, collecting eggs in the 1960s. It’s her job when she visits her
grandparents. She’s in front of an old
barn, the wood has cracks in it. Evelyn
is wearing knee socks, a printed skirt, a blouse and a bow in her hair. She also has on an apron to hold the eggs she
gathered. It’s pretty warm out, probably
in August because the weeds are dead by the barn. The sun is shining, the reflection is showing
on different things.
A chicken (or duck) name Kentucky is
standing in the doorway trying to stay alive.
It feels safe when it’s around Evelyn.
Other chickens are around too. A
man is in the dark barn, you can see his bald head, eyes and the outline of his
body. He is there to pick up the eggs
that Evelyn left behind.
