On a cool evening in Byrdstown, Tennessee brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, grandparents, and all the rest of the family came together at the Cordell Hull State Park. The women had cooked up everything they could and packed it all up to the park. It was the fall of 1948 and the family was happy to have their men and boys home from the war. They shared their love by sharing food. There was a breeze blowing through the trees, birds singing, dogs barking, and people laughing. Happiness was everywhere.
