Two young women are on a stage fencing. One is called Isabel and the other is called Yolanda. They are looking like they are Victorian-type girls. The stage looks like it has an oriental feel to it in Elmira, New York. The girls know each other as schoolmates and in the same social class. They are upper middle class. They go to parties together and have since they were little girls. They have known each other for years. Who will win the contest? That's tricky to say. On the right is Yolanda. She is smaller so she might be quicker. On the left is Isabel; she might be more persevering and more firmly planted, so she could win. We can hear panting breath while their swords clash! They look pretty long! Listen to their feet moving while everybody is watching. The people are gasping! This is just a demonstration for a fencing school. It is like a piano recital for fencing. Moms and Dads and friends and families are watching the fun. Also there are boys they've known their whole lives watching. The boys are interested in them but the girls are too young for that! They are only 16 years old. The mothers were worried. The fathers are happy the girls are learning something for the money they spent. All are proud of Isabel and Yolanda, who win a prize. Then everyone goes home!
