A lobster at school! He’s sitting at the desk. He is going to start squeezing his pinchers! It’s real thirsty. Before this, the lobster lived in the ocean. He got caught in a net by the boatmen. “We’ll have a good dinner,” the boatmen say. The lobster pinched them and the boatmen threw him back in the sea. Other fishermen were in the sea. They did not know about this lobster and his special color. He is so bright red! He’s old. He’s also a gigantic size. He eats the other little fish so he will get even bigger. The lobster gets caught again by the fishermen. They say, “What a dinner we’ll have!” They lick their lips. “No way” says the lobster. “I’m not going to be eaten for dinner!” The lobster swims away from the fishermen and back into the ocean. But the fishermen see him and go after him. He bit once, but the lobster isn’t going to bite the second time. Instead, he goes under the boat and hid under there. The lobster hears the sound of the waves, the engine and other fish from under the boat. The lobster sees the big net and swims away because he knew he was going to be caught again. This time, lobster goes back deep into the ocean. There is a whale there. They are long, lost cousins. “Whoopie! We found one another!” they say to each other. “We’ll go and hunt something to eat.” They take a net with them. They want the little fish….minnows! Minnows taste like minnows and are slippery. Sometimes, they taste like big fish! Plus, the minnows have no bones because they are so small – good for eating! The minnows are so small though that they won’t get caught in the net. They swim away out into the ocean, under the sea. Next, whale and lobster look for other fish. They throw in bait. They stay quiet. But a big wave comes and washes them all away, back deep in the ocean. Whale and lobster are still hungry for other fish. Whale and lobster go deep. Finally, lobster says, “I hate fish. We’ll try the beach for leftover picnic food.” Oh, yeah…. they find parts of hot dogs and peanut butter sandwiches. “We don’t have to eat fish anymore!” says lobster.
