There is a dog named Trixie looking out at the snow. She is looking through a little window in her doggie door. She is hoping to go frolicing in the snow. She is a snow dog. She loves the cold weather and likes the snow. The door is latched, so she can't get out. She is waiting for someone to let her out. Then they will go out with her. They will take her for a walk so they both get exercise.
Her owners names are George and Mary. They have two children. Their names are Louise and Mike. Louise is 12 and Mike is 10. After they take Trixie for a walk, the kids will build a snowman.
Pretty soon everyone will be cold, and want to go in the house. George and Mary will make sure that the kids will take off their wet boots and hang up their coats. Then they will all sit around the nice warm fire. Mary fixes hot chocolate for everyone, and Louise helps make popcorn. Trixie is laying in front of the fire too, chewing on her favorite bone.
Later the children got ready to go to bed. They are looking forward to another day in the snow tomorrow. They are hoping that there is enough snow that they will not have to go to school. They could stay home and play with toys and go out and play in the snow. Trixie could go out and play with them all day. They might even get to bake cookies and have friends over. Maybe mom could even teach them how to make cookies so that next time they could do it on their own. At least, next time mom would let them think they were doing it on their own.
When they go to bed Trixie goes with them. She is dreaming of playing in the snow. Maybe she is hoping for a snow day, too. Mom and dad are still downstairs. They know there could be a snow day, too. They are ready for the fun.
