He could be picking up his own car or leaving his car. He’s inside a car repair place.
His name is Larry. He’s an entertainer. He’s singing a song while he’s going along.
He’s late for an engagement. He’s going to entertain somebody or a group, and he’s rushing. He’s singing:
“Merrily we roll along,
“Roll along, roll along
“Merrily we roll along
“O’er the deep blue sea.”
When he dropped off his car, there was a person there with a pad of paper who was going to take care of the car repair, but Larry didn’t stay. It could have been the technician with the amount to charge, but Larry is nervous about the amount. He doesn’t look poor. He doesn’t look rich either. He looks good old middle class. He has very ordinary clothes, Sunday leisure wear.
He could be the singer at a wedding. That’s why he’s worried about being late. Hopefully it’s not his own wedding!
The way he’s walking, his leg is up. He’s hurrying up. He is late, so he’s hurrying to get there on time.
Maybe he’s the bridegroom. Yes, he is. So maybe he’s not singing – maybe he’s saying, “Oh, she’s going to kill me!” There’s some anxiety in that face. His bride’s name is Marie.
Time is on our side. The police were very helpful and quick. The police rush him to the church for the wedding.
Marie was so glad to see him. She said, “Oh, I’m so glad you’re here!” She also said, “Where have you been?” He answered, “On my way!”
And then Larry and Marie lived happily ever after.
