This takes place out in “the country.” Which country? I would say it is being… I think it’s the United States not another country. It takes place three days before. He’s observing through the scope and shooting the rifle. It’s a single short rifle. It could be a Western or Wesco rifle. He’s shooting for pleasure.
His name is Oscar because he looks like an Oscar. He’s very talented. He’s taking pictures. He’s going to pass them on to other family members. He’s protecting his family. He’s shooting. he’s probably shooting at a goose. That’s probably a 7.05mm. It’s an old gun. If you shoot my mule I’ll have to take you on! He could shoot himself in the foot but that’s against the law. Folks that carry IMS can only carry 16. I meant to say 45-70mm.
He’s a golfer. He’s tall. He’s sure of himself. He’s handy. It’s possible that this guy has a family. He’s a good shooter. He knows how to handle a gun. That is a very old gun. He’s got a wife. He’s got two or three teenagers. He’s a young guy. His family is hungry. If he doesn’t shoot they don’t eat. Look at his dress. He’s a very poor man.
If I was doing that I would think I look pretty sharp. He might just be looking through the barrel to see if he’s got it loaded. If there is anyone else in the picture they’re in the back. He dreams of going to the mountains, spending by himself, and hopefully bringing home something that he shot for his family to eat.
He will fulfill his dream of going quail hunting. He’s going to hold up the quail to his father to show what a big boy he is. They (boy and father) talk in code. He’s looking ‘round his back for the game warden.
