Uh-oh somebody’s in trouble. The Christmas tree fell down! Good thing it didn’t have any glass ornaments on it– they’d break! The cat did it or the dog did it, but the cat helped. The dog looks guilty. The cat is laughing to himself – he’s the one that really did it and he scratched the needles off too. I think someone is fussing at the dog and cat – the mamma. She’s not happy they made a mess while she’s trying to put up the Christmas decorations. The dog’s name is Sandy and she’s a girl. The cat’s name is Peaches and he’s a boy. They were just trying to help put the things away. The cat wanted to play with the little orange ball or the snowman. There might be Christmas music playing. Christmas music is cheery, like Jingle Bells:
Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle all the way
Oh what fun it is to ride in a one horse open sleigh – Hey!
Dashing through the snow, in a one-horse open sleigh,
O’er the fields we go, laughing all the way – Ha-Ha-Ha!
Bells on Bob’s tail ring, making spirit’s bright…
Is it Bob’s tail or bobtail? I never knew the answer to that. I think it’s Bob’s tail – Bob’s the horse.
Oh what fun it is to sing a sleighing song tonight! Oh…
Sometimes Christmas is sad. Uncle Joe never liked Christmas, he was too poor and never got presents. I hope the tree didn’t break any presents. It’s ok because there’s no presents there. They’ve all been put away because there’s crates in the room to box things up.
They’re in a house and it’s after New Year’s. You always leave the tree up until after New Year’s. The mamma and pops live in the house. There’s no little kids anymore, they’ve all growed up. Sometimes the grandkids come, but there’s no toys lying around. There’s no grandkids. They’re sad because Christmas is over and mad because the tree got knocked down. It smells like apples and cinnamon in the house. They have candles like that. The tree isn’t real, so it doesn’t smell.
Now the mamma has to clean up the tree and all the other stuff and put it away til next Christmas.
