Once upon a time their was a family with two thousand chickens, two hundred ducks, fifty rabbits, and one Carl. They lived in Forks Township from 1943-1956. I was tired of them always trying to follow me, because I fed them. I was trying to go to work but they did not understand that. Carl was born in downtown Easton. His mother gave birth to him in the circle right in the middle of the farmers market. Dr. Berkley came to the rescue, he was buying some chickens from Forks Farm, where his mother was selling their chickens. To keep Carl warm they wrapped him in a cheese cloth and kept him in a chicken feed sack. As he grew older he enjoyed eating with the chickens but never ate a chicken. He only ate the ducks and rabbits. His best friend was the bright red chicken shown in the picture, his name was Big Red. They shared a bed, and did everything together. Carl and Big Red worked at the Lafayette College Library. They played most of the time, and did very little work. Big Red followed Carl everywhere. They could cause some mischief every once in a while. Carl and Big Red's dream is to travel to Germany. The school students put together a fundraiser to send Carl and Big Red to Germany. They succeeded and presented them with plane tickets, a hotel stay, and food vouchers. The next day they packed and flew to Germany. The two of them went to Berlin. They walked around and did various touristy things, snapped lots of photos and ate their way through the town. The met a beautiful women, and Carl fell in love. Juliette became very jealous of Big Red. Especially when Big Red followed them everywhere. Eventually Big Red won over the heart of Juliette by laying eggs. She loved eggs. Juliette came home with Carl and Big Red. Carl proposed on the airplane with an egg shaped ring. She said "yes". Everyone on the plane celebrated with eggnog. When they landed Carl took Juliette to meet his family. They started the wedding planning immediately. Four weeks went by and Juliette walked down the aisle. Big Red was the best man,and the hens were the bridesmaids. The reception was held at the German Club in downtown Easton. They danced, drank and had coq vin. (wine with chicken. A few weeks later and they were expecting their first child. Little did they know they were having octuplets. Nine months later they had 4 girls and 4 boys. They are going crazy with all the poopy diapers. When they grew older the Jones family traveled the country going on talk shows about having 8 babies. They came back home and went to college. They attended Lafayette College where Carl and Big Red returned to their job as librarians. They all lived happily ever after. The end.
