Did you see this one? He’s very handsome and he’s wearing a cappello or hat. He’s pushing a trolley along with something in it.
The man is called Basil, and shortly named “Baz” or “Bazza”. There’s a big flask that you drink out of, in the trolley.
There’s a bus racing by and Basil is rushing in a hurry. He’s got to get back to the factory. Everybody’s got out of the bus and he’s got to get back to the office. Basil’s wearing a dust coat or overalls. He wants someone else to be doing it. He’s rushing to get to the other end. Maria thinks he is rushing to her home because she loves him very much—like a fire in the chest! And probably she’s a very good cook. She would fix beans for him because her father loved beans, so she would make it for her boyfriend.
Elsie thinks this picture could be a double image, with one photo over another. Crissie thinks Basil is wearing a dark shoe on the left and a white shoe or sock on the other. It looks as if he’s pushing two trolleys.
It’s taking place on the main road, Ramsgate Road. We don’t think Basil will make it on time. Isobel says she hates being late. George doesn’t know if Basil will make it. Bill thinks Basil’s been competent and has sold most everything in the trolley. Elsie and Roberta think Basil will just deliver the trolley to the factory. Tony thinks Basil is wearing one dark shoe and the other is just a white sock. “Perhaps,” says Crissie, “he put the shoe in his pocket because his foot hurts.”
What’s in the trolley and where he’s come from … it’s a mystery!
Maria thinks he is going to meet a Bargwanna. He’s very clever. He’s charming, charming, charming!
Bill thinks Basil got up in the morning, filled the trolley with stuff, got rid of it all and then went home. This happens 150 times—people everywhere doing similar jobs!
