“Home Away from Home”
We are in the hills and mountains, possibly South Carolina or Wyoming seeing the state flower and wild flowers. There are even chrysanthemums, lilies of the valley and some dandelions too!
The air is very still but we hear the wind blow and there are insects buzzing about being drawn to the nectar learning their kindred to flowers. There are butterflies as well and purple flowers. The birds are singing but we can’t see them because they are way up in the sky.
The sky is so blue. The birds are nesting and roosting, getting some sleep. If you just lay down and be quiet, you will hear the Almighty’s voice and know that He is with you. It smells like a natural forest. The smell of orchids is mild mixed with the smell of grass. We might get hay fever! Beyond the hill is a valley and possibly more rolling hills with more flowers. We might find Julie Andrews singing, “…the hills are alive.”
With those clouds in the sky it might rain soon. The sky will turn dark and it will rain. But maybe those are wind clouds and not rain clouds. There’s probably more of the same thing on the other side of the hill. This is God’s call of nature.
I wondered if someone planted all those flowers. They’re probably wild. God planted it right where He wanted it. Could this be where the wagon trains go? It’s a long way to go to find a road.
(This story was created by the residents of Rehab Center of Omaha while viewing "Tapis Magique" by Tom Mangelson. It is a large print, 2' x 4' hanging in their dining room. I substituted this picture as it was the closest one I could find here).
