John Henry in the Drier
John Henry is a naughty boy. He tried to hide from his family and he accidentally fell into the drier. He is a really good loveable boy, but now he is really stuck. It is raining outside and he got all wet.
He feels like he did something really big, but it is a hot job. He can't breathe until someone lets him out. He is going to go 'round and 'round and whine until his parents let him out. When he gets out, he will shake himself out and then tell people what he did wrong. He really wants to get out. He is hungry and wants some peanuts or anything we give him. Right now it smells like his tennis shoes and plastic in there. If he gets peanuts, it will smell like peanuts too.
Although someone thinks the drier won't start, others think he is banging around in it and he is banging on it. The beeper is going off. And he is yelling "HELP!" and "Oh come on -- hurry up. "
Virginia is going to head up a team to get him out. Jean C, Charlotte, Bernice, Bobbie and Jean H are going to help her.
He was dared to get into the drier by his little brother, and he is telling his little brother, "I told ya so, but you didn't listen".
(Please note that Virginia and Bernice think his parents own Leroy the Dog from last week's story.
