Elsie loves the lady’s fur coat—it’s a beautiful coat. This is taking place in Canada. It’s cold. It’s in Montreal. They are a married couple. The lady’s name is Alice Marcia, and the gentleman’s name is Tony.
They are walking around, just having a look. They are out shopping. They’ve got money to shop. They might just be looking for something to take home. They may have a daughter or son who have just moved into a new place and they want to buy them something nice. Or they could be shopping for shoes for Alice!
They are looking at shop dummies. Bill thinks one of the dummies might not have a shirt on, and Roberta thinks they look funny.
Alice and Tony have been out shopping for a while. George notices that the name of the shop is “Das Modehaus”. It’s German and it means fashion house.
You can hear city noises around them—the sound of cars. There is a long step in front of the shop and the couple are looking into the make-believe. They might have been thinking of their daughter as they walked and looked in the shop and thought how pretty things looked.
John thinks maybe they don’t have enough money. “No money, no tucker,” says Maria! They are just considering buying something. Laurie thinks they will.
Bill says that you can look at things for years and years and years! They are an older couple, but when they were younger they used to buy more things. Tony was going to buy something for Alice and she said: “No, you’re too old. It’s too late!” But John says we are never too old for a present. Never!
