They're outside. At a Beach, out in the sunlight. It is 1879, that's the year. That sounds about right! This was in my grandmother's day. They're sitting in two chairs. It's Ocean City. they to be Presidents' wives. It might be a husband and a wife. No, that's two women! No men there! It's probably vacation. It looks like snow. That's sand! They're mother and daughter.
We're calling them Mary and Joan. We're going to call them Susan and Emma. It's a Sunday because they're dressed up. They're teachers, they look smart. They might work in an office or a saloon. They like their jobs. They're glad about something. They seem happy. They're sitting there thinking about their husbands. That could be, because there's a man in the background. They look like sisters. They dream of summertime, when they can be out.
There's a cowboy in the background. They're wondering where the third person is. They're always very social and nice people. I'll agree with that! They hear the waves and smell the food. They probably smell the air and some of the candy they carry up and down the board. Maybe it's Atlantic City or the Eastern Shore.
