Somebody stole something—very carefully. These two men, Marc Sr. and Marc Jr. witnessed a crime. Marc Sr. is an animal trainer for the circus. Somebody just stole one of his leopards! They saw somebody sneak into the house next door. They saw the leopard going around the back of the house and they followed. Marc Sr. knows who lives in that house. A little kid has it—a 12 year old kid named Jonathon.
The two men walked right into the house and used the phone to call the judge. They said, “We’ve got the leopard!” Marc Sr. sat down right on the leopard. The leopard is underneath him.
Someone in that house wanted to go around with the leopard and have him do tricks for money, but he doesn’t belong to him. He belongs to the circus!
If someone led a leopard into my house, I’d be amused. My mother might not like it, though.
Not me---I’d run out the back door!
Now the men are just waiting to be interrogated by the judge. The judge will probably not go see for himself. Some people are leery of wild animals and some animals you should be leery of.
The judge will say, “Just get him back to the circus where he belongs.”
After all, he’s a valuable animal. They’ll send a trainer to get him.
The 12 year old kid, Jonathon, and the judge get free tickets to the circus. That’s what they want!
The boy’s going to grow up and have a wonderful time with animals. Maybe he’ll be an animal trainer. It’s harder to be a judge.
