I use to set a wooden stool in the middle of all the baby chicks and begin to play them a song. Mom said the animals would grow up strong and healthy if we sing and talk to them. So I sang to them and everyday you could find me in the chicken coop strumming a way.
My name is Millie and I have four brothers and sisters. Two brothers and two sisters I was the youngest of the four. Not always so fun.My main job was to feed the chickens my favorite chick was Isabelle she would follow me around all the time. She loved my strumming on the old guitar I received the guitar as a gift from my Uncle Pete and Aunt Beatrice one year for Christmas. Not sure mom and dad were to happy with them for giving me a guitar as I walked around with that guitar and singing loud as I could for most of the day.I am pretty sure that's why Pa gave me the chicken feeding chores then I would be outside and sing as loud as I wanted. Don't remember the neighbors ever complaining.
When I grow up I want to be like Dolly Parton the best little country singer I can be.I sure have had enough practice. When I look back growing up on the farm wasn't so bad. I could sing loud and play hard with my siblings.Life on the farm was good! For a guitar strumming, loud singing little
