Norman, the paleontologist, along with his photo journalist Snap and Snap's wife/assistant, Snip are still investigating in South Africa. They have found the other end of the prairie dog tunnel that seems to be the hideout for the pesky prairie dog that snatched Norman's wallet, hat and toupee. The heat in the barren desert is almost unbearable, but Norman is determined to retrieve his belongings, especially his toupee.
The three explores had a celebratory drink (or two or three) after finding an entire prehistoric bison skeleton. Snap and Snip have gone to rest in the tent and out of the hot sun when Norman, inspecting the hole at the far end of the tunnel spies a tiny spotted cow climbing out of the hole. Norman, being a man of science bends down to observe. Next he sees a tiny pig, a miniscule monkey, and a pink elephant emerge. They seem to be in a hurry and he understands why when a diminutive (but fierce) tiger scrambles out. To protect the other animals (and to satisfy his scientific curiosity) Norman grabs the petite tiger by its tiny tail. It is scrabbling about, trying to attack Norman while it is making faint, but fierce growls. Norman places it in a secure small box he keeps for medium sized rocks. (the box is ventilated) and proceeds to examine the tunnel.
After more intense digging Norman surmises that there is an entire Underground miniature ranch here in the South African desert! Norman wakes Snap and Snip; this must be filmed. His photographer and assistant do not believe him.
"We all had too much to drink," Says Snap.
"It's this unbearable sun," Snip suggests.
Norman insists on alerting the government. This may be his chance to go down in the scientific journals. Soon helicopters are overhead trying to survey the area. Norman will be making a government funded documentary on the underground ranch and its inhabitants, the government will try to turn the mini ranch into a secret missile cache. Norman will be able to buy a new hat and toupee with the money from his documentary!
