Marvins Magical Meltdown
It is fall of 1944, and Marvin the math teacher is on an adventure exploring the state of Maine. Marvin comes across a rock path over a lake, and he wants to know what is on the other side. Once he crosses the rock path, he discovers an abandoned house. Curiosity creeping up, Marvin decides to go inside the house.
Marvin makes his way into a bedroom and discovers a large trunk on the floor. He is tired though, so he curls up with a rug and goes to sleep. Marvin dreams about what is in this mysterious trunk. In his dream, Marvin dumps open the trunk and out falls Gold, coins, pearls, diamonds, the truth of who killed Kennedy, the location of Jimmy Hoffa, and a map showing the location of King Solomon's mines all fall to the floor. As he begins exploring these treasures, a stray dog wakes him up.
Marvin is startled by the dog, but he pulls himself together and decides to open the trunk. To his dismay, all that he actually finds in the trunk is a dead mouse. Sadly, nothing else. Marvin leaves the house in frustration and disappointment, crosses back over the rock bridge, and returns home. He decides to take his experience and turn it into something positive. Marvin shows his students how to make stories expressing their experiences, just like him.
