My name is Buddy and this is the story of how I met my best friend, Freddie. One day my owner, Gwen was stopped at a red light after leaving the park where we had played all morning. We decided to call it a morning because it was close to lunch time. I had the most enjoyable ride with the wind in my face and the smell of the city all around. Jackson can be a beautiful place in the fall with the changing of leaves and fall decorations everywhere. To my surprise, the day was about to get even better. As I glanced over to my right, there was another dog looking right at me. He had the most amazing red bandana around his neck that I had ever seen. I asked him what his name was and he said, "Freddie. What's yours?" "My name is Buddy and I just got through playing at the park with Gwen." As we were talking, we noticed our owners were looking at each other. It turns out they knew each other too. They were friends in high school and lost touch with each other over the years. As we talked, so did they. Since we all knew the light wouldn't stay red forever, Gwen and Jimmy exchanged phone numbers so that we could have a play date next week. As the light changed from red to green, Freddie and I said our goodbyes for now because we knew that we would see each other again. And sure enough, we did. We have played together every week since we first met and have become the best of friends. Every time Gwen and I stop at that red light, I think of Freddie and how I met my best friend.
