They're celebrating the end of a race or a March - a Military March, on a fine and clear day.
It could be a celebration for Independence, probably in Manhattan.
He looks angry as he's been waiting for a long time, or he could be bored waiting.
He could be nervous - he looks as if he's tapping his feet - and that's not a dance !
He's wondering if he gave the Band the wrong directions - as that could be a catastrophe !
He's called Alfred or John and he's a Leader.
He's probably around 50 or 56 years old.
His wife has ironed his shirt for the occasion!
His day job is that of a butler.
Maybe he feels that he's in the wrong place, and the Band had already turned up before he did.
He feels the responsibility lies all on him.
He feels people will think he's crazy.
(X'ghamilt b'idejja - What have I done ?)
Perhaps the celebration will now all be cancelled because the Police have not cleared the cars from the streets. He doesn't know how he's going to tell his wife and 6 children who live in a corner flat with a city view.
He's never ever going to forget that moment since it had been well advertised and he was looking forward to the event.
He will make it a point to never ever carry that flag again !
