This is a story that takes place at the market. We see a woman, her name is Scottie and she is dancing the “Highland Fling.” She is an expert; she is in the groove. She’s got both arms up and looking like she could almost be holding a hula hoop and doing the hula.
Scottie looks to be a young 65 years old. The other people at the market are looking at her, which is what she always wanted. Scottie is in high spirits and feeling good and she is doing her dance to prove it. She’s got one or maybe two children. She is a livewire so her husband has to go home and make his own supper. When Scottie’s not dancing, she goes to work at the market as a food vendor. After finishing her “Highland Fling” in the market, Scottie goes home to put some ointment on her aching ankles. Her husband would have rubbed her feet but he was too busy making dinner!
If we went to the market, we would see that it is Autumn because the air is chilly outside and too cold to be summer. We would hear trumpet music with a Highland flair. Everybody loves Scottie’s dancing, so much so that she has her own orchestra. Everybody is having fun and a good time.
