One of the happiest days in Barcelona: Way to go into a world of fun
March 28, 2021
I think they are advance for the circus. It takes place on a big plaza in Barcelona in the 90s or 80s in high summer - the clowns must be very hot.
Before the picture was taken, the girl's daddy wanted to have a memory of what his little girl experienced growing up for the future. The girl was lifted by the two clowns.
The clowns' names are Annabelle and Harlequin. They belong to the circus and travel with the circus from city to city. Next stop is Milan - they always have a lot of fun. I think they are married; they're so comfortable together.
These clowns didn't have to learn a lot. They were taught by the director of the circus. He told them to use their imagination. "That is good enough for us and you can go wherever you want and talk about the circus."
The child's name is Christine Madeletje.
I hear loud music from loudspeakers all around up on poles. The whole place is in circus mode. There are sounds coming from the circus tent.
The smells are cigarette smoke, french fries, cold drinks. 1% beer was allowed. People are automatically attracted to beer. The men all have beer and the ladies a light rosé in plastic cups. The other smell is oliebollen and those tiny circles - mini-things - mini-donuts, and appelflappen.
The clowns are thinking we're doing very well and I hope we get paid accordingly. To the girl they said, "Just hook onto our arms and we'll lift you up. She was very happy to do it.
The clowns are clownish in real life - they love to joke.
What happens next is that the little girl will be put down on the asphalt. She runs to her Dad and says "I liked it but my arms are hurting." Dad says, "Good work" and he will show her the picture he took.
