Scotland is beautiful this time of year, spring is always full of rebirth. It seems almost poetic that this is how it ended up for Ben's father. He always wanted to travel to the lush green space, but sadly he was not able to do so in his lifetime. Ben had a beautiful funeral service for his father, full of family and friends. He always remembered his father talking about taking Ben on a hiking trip, saying that the two of them would bond over the magnificence of nature. For some time now Ben had been taking life too seriously, in fact work was so busy when his father invited him on the hiking trip for real, that Ben had to decline. He had said there was plenty of time for hiking and nature. Ben could not have been more wrong, his father did not last the year. Now Ben is alone, realizing he failed by prioritizing work for family. He knows he cannot makeup for lost time but finds it fitting to take his fathers ashes with him on his trip to Scotland. He was busy looking out at the rolling hills, feeling isolated while missing his father when out of the blue a Ben was joined by a dog. He contemplated the existence of this animal, which seemed to sense Ben's loneliness. The dog sat with Ben while he gave his father a final eulogy and sprinkled his ashes into the great expansive landscape.
