St. Patrick’s Day!
I like Milwaukee, I’ve been here a long time.
I went to a Brewers game.
All kinds of beer. We’re brewers. We make beer!
Mayor Meyer caused a lot of grief.
We do a lot of dancing to “Roll Out the Barrel” (Dancing and singing!)
We have picnics in the park where kids are.
We go to the zoo and see apes.
It’s cold in Milwaukee.
Stay here. I love it!
I like Bay Shore Mall where we buy clothes.
There’s public school for kids.
I ate at the Golden Carrel for my birthday. I ate cake.
Rocky Rococo Pizza. They serve cola and donuts.
I like pizza and hot dogs are my favorite food.
I like cherry and lemon.
Me like beer. All of it!
Fire works! POP POP POP POP POP POP (There was a lot of acting this one out.)
We don’t like the way some people treat you.
We’re at Mitchell Street.
Mr. Lester’s dad bought all of his horses and mules at DC Jane Way. They had a lot of land where they grew corn and cotton. He had a mule that if you sat on him too far up, he won’t like it. The calfs were mostly brown with shiny hair.
Stop letting her (Dorothy) have all the Milwaukee beer! She can’t handle it. (Wild laughter)
Miss Dorothy lived across the street from the tavern and they would wake us up with that song (Take me out to the Ball Game) every morning. They played it all night long! (We sing the song together several times really, really loud.)
Mr. Edwin likes to do the twist. Chubby Checker! (We sing “Let’s twist again like we did last summer” and do the twist.)
Allen Bradley clock!
Miller, Pabst, and Golden Guernsey.
The chicken dance!
Mr. Lester wants to sing “A Tisket, a Tasket” and we all sing with him.
Someone wants to sing the “Star Spangled Banner” and we all sing that together too.
Mom knew how to use that elm switch. She would hit you across the shoulder. You didn’t talk back. Mom would whip it in front of everybody.
Moonshine is here . We made moonshine at the age of 12 and 13 making 20 gallons at a time. Boil it until the water turns green. Then it would turn into something else. My dad would drink it and get drunk.
Milwaukee is a wonderful place to live.
We have “Cool Waters” in Milwaukee.
