“Oh, he’s so beautiful,” says Crissie! “He has such a big smile. Awwww!”
“They’re gorgeous, aren’t they?” says Roberta.
The dad must be taking the photo. It could be a boy because he’s not wearing a top.
“Did he hop in the barrel or whatever it is?” asks Bill.
It’s a bag. Isobel says it is the sort of case her dad would take to work every day with his lunch and other things in it. The bag also clips across at the top.
“With the boy, what length of time has gone by and how has he grown up?” asks Bill.
Are his parents the sort of people who open the case and pop him in for the photo? Peggy says that the baby is holding onto the bag. John says the boy is called Peter. Yes, Peter Basil!
Bill points out that a lot of other people get called boofhead! The baby could be called Terry or John or many other names. You could call the baby Bobby. You don’t call a baby Robert. It is difficult to pronounce the “R” at the beginning, so you say “Bobby”! Maria thinks he should be called Mimi Casanova.
But he is perfect—Peter Perfect!
Isobel knows of a baby who was supposed to be small, but he wasn’t!
Peter is not very big. He’s not quite a year old. He’s nine or ten months. Roberta thinks he’s younger, but she says: “I’m not worried”!
Peter might be standing in the bag and holding on–so that is his height. He has no other brothers or sisters. He is laughing. He is a handsome, happy boy. Maria’s daughter comes in and takes photos for free.
Lance agrees it might be a boy … just! He also notes that the bag looks like a bowls bag, but there is a golf putter in the background. There would also be bowls. Lance likes the name “John” for the baby. Pam and Crissie like it too!
At the time of this, they would call him “Bubby”, or they could toss him out and call him “boofhead”!
It’s a work bag. They’ve put the baby in it. It’s likely in the city or near there because the father is about to go to work. Yianni (John) notes that maybe if there was no mother, the baby might go to work with the father.
Maybe, though, the mother might have gone inside. Maybe she has forgotten something and the baby is there watching the bag. Peter has climbed in and has a big smile on his face. He has money and wants to go shopping!
