It's 1959 in New York City. This man, named Tom Jones, is 45 years old. He's recently been released from active military duty. He looks angry at what he's been through in the war. It shows that he's still proud that he protected his country. He's getting ready to march in a Veteran's Day parade. You can tell by the the sternness and stiffness in his face that he wants to show that he's still strong and believes in the county and the flag, even after all he's been through. There's no joy or happiness in his face. Tom was born in Italy and immigrated to the United States when he was 10. Because he had to support his family and then the war broke out, he never married. He's going to try to build a new life in the United States and fine a trade.
