It’s a dance. A party. The kids are looking at the party. It’s in a hall. It could be anywhere, perhaps Petersham Town Hall. They had a band on Friday and Saturday night. There’s a family gathering there. It could be a place in America or in the south, a local club or a police hall. We hear music. There’s waltzing and dance music. They’re celebrating a family a gathering or a family party. There is only one lady, the rest are men. It’s the grandmothers’ special birthday or the grandsons. They are happy and smiling celebrating a birthday. Two little boys are there- the grandchildren. Before the dance there were gangsters having a meeting. They were all talking and the band started up. The son asked his mother to dance on her special birthday. There was a toast ‘Happy birthday to Mary and I hope you go home and have a pleasant night.” They all sit down and eat. They hold hands with each other and break up. The birthday cake is in the fridge to keep cold.
