Precious the Bear
Precious the bear is a male polar bear that lives in the Baltimore, MD zoo. His caregivers name is Patty, and she takes very good care of this beautiful specimen of bear each, and every day. Precious is posing for pictures today, and he is also being trained to respond to specific voices and faces of the visitors that come by. Today, Precious is being taught the voices and faces of Ms. Catherine, and Mr. Stephen. Precious grows hungry as the day goes on and before he knows it...his mother Queenie cries, "It's lunch time!"
Precious is excited because on the menu today, is cookies and milk. Precious has a unique, and large appetite for a 4 month old polar bear. But today he only eats a handful of cookies, and 4 to 5 ounces of milk before collapsing in gluttony. Queenie picks precious up by the back of the neck, and carries him in their house. Queenie places Precious on their nice queen mattress because it is nap time. Queenie decides to take a nap as well. She knows they are going to need all the rest they can get for later.
Precious wakes up to his surprise that he is going to be taught how to swim today. Queenie will be taking him to the Zoo's "community pool." But there is a difference between how mother and son view the process off "learning how to swim". Precious thinks it will be fun, gradual, slow, and exciting. But as Precious and his mother Queenie approach the pool, Queenie's idea on learning how to swim is apparent, as she picks up Precious, and tosses him in the pool!
"Okay Kid, its sink or swim!" Queenie screams!
