Sam Sam the Military Man, as he was affectionately known to all, was a War War II Veteran and one of the most patriotic people you will ever meet. Sam never missed a VFW Hall meeting or the opportunity of marching in the Veterans' Day Parade. He didn't miss it this year even though he no longer had his wife to stand on the sidelines and cheer him on. He marched with pride as he always did. Only after the parade this time he wasn't walking slow to get home like he use to do when his wife was alive. He now was in a hurry to get home, and as tired as he was he pressed on. He even imaged how great it would be if he had the wings of a butterfly, so he could get home quicker and beat some of his exhaustion.
Sam what's the hurry this time? Well, it seems after Sam lost the love of his life he ended up getting a new love, Harry the French Bulldog he rescued from a local shelter. Harry keeps Sam active and is great company. Sam needed to get home quickly to feed Harry and spend some quality time with him since he was gone all day at the parade. Sam got home and took care of Harry, then they both rested on his recliner and watched a classic old movie. It was moments like this when Sam wondered who rescued who?
