Tilly and Dolly are sisters. They are wearing hats, shoes, and long-sleeve dresses. It’s a good thing we don’t dress like that anymore, no one would go to the beach. It’s too hot!
Tilly is the older sister, maybe 24 or 25 and Dolly is younger, 18-20. They are looking at each other and laughing. Tilly is a nanny or housewife, she looks cute and is wearing a daisy on her hat and a broach on her dress. Dolly is a seamstress and dreams of being an author, she has a timepiece hanging on her dress. She has a stern look on her face and has a book on her lap, maybe a Bible or hymnal, or medical book to get educated.
They are on hanging seats, swinging and enjoying themselves. Father was sitting in the empty seat, he went to get food for the girls, or cold drinks. Mother is taking the picture. There are shoppers getting ice cream cones, bathing suits, drinks, tea party supplies and souvenirs. Vendors are there selling their wares.
There is a white horse in the background neighing, another horse is there too to pull the carriage. There is a watchtower and they hear a plane flying low, near the roof. They smell good food and fresh air, but smelly horses too.
Men come by and flirt, then ask Tilly and Dolly to go to a church social with them. The men will offer their arms to help them walk in the sand because of their shoes.
