Story by elder men and women
On the beach, the shore, in the ocean in Hawaii or in Cape Cod on long island. In the summer, in the warm weather. It’s a woman or a government worker on his day off. He’s got a week or two before he goes to work. It's a man in the water jumping the waves, going to catch his sweetheart. He’s so happy to be free, relaxed and happy. She’s going to be caught by his sweetheart. They might be going skinny dipping. The lord might be with them. He might be alone and the girl might be his girlfriend. He was swimming. He was in college. He just graduated. He’s going to get married in Hawaii. This young man is going to meet some young girls. Sounds of splashing. Other people, the sound of the sea. A camera clicking off. The fellow and the girls. The waves up and down. He is saying, "Thank god I’m safe". There is laughing. The splashing of water in the ocean. It smells like sea weed coming in, salt water and fish. The tide is coming in. It smells like hotdogs from the boardwalk, and hamburgers. There are sounds of seagulls and the splashing of the water. It smells like popcorn. She says, "Yes".
