Tech VS. Agriculture – a Tale of Dual Friends and Piggy-backing Sheep
Pete AKA “Lemmy” is going to the market with his friend Ebu, but Pete just calls him “buddy.” Buddy is going for a ride with Pete which he loves to do on a regular basis. He looks quite happy to be there, doesn’t he? Buddy is Pete’s pet and Pete lets him enjoy the outdoors often on his bicycle.
Pete and buddy are on their way to an outdoor market that is close by to where they live. They both live in Korea and Pete is a natural at riding like this, in fact, Pete has been known to ride like this with two sheep on the bike. One on his back and another on the handlebars. The bike they’re on can hold a lot of weight. The outdoor market which they are travelling to has entertainment, races, and many different trades. Pete is going to look at the vegetable market.
“Whoosh” the cars go by and you can smell the rice fields and fires from local shops in the distance. Pete can also smell his friend on his back, but he doesn’t mind. There is also the fresh, but dense and humid air all around them. Pete works as a rice farmer year-round. That is a popular occupation in these parts. The patties are flooded, and Pete enjoys working out in the fields.
As they ride, they pass the parked cars on the side, the white cars are the dignitaries, and the black cars contain the locals. Then suddenly, a mass of other bikes begins to cross the road perpendicular to Pete and Buddy as they speed up down the hill. Pete has to swerve in and out of traffic, but they escape disaster. Afterward, Pete sits on his bike and he wonders who is more nervous himself or Buddy. As they get off the bike, both are thankful they’ve made their trip with no mishap.
