They are at a football field. The gentleman with the umbrella is Joanie's grandfather. He's always been his own person and very much into sports. He's quite elderly and he doesn't have a name as such, he's always been grandfather Edgar. The man behind him is Joanie's father. He doesn't have a name either. He's got a grey handlebar mustache and is leaning forward intently. He needs to see who the fastest player is. The young men are competing on a cold fall day by the school. They are getting warmed up for the big game. The two young men are running with all their might to the rope. They look a lot alike, so does grandpa Edgar and Joanie's father with their mustaches and pipe. The two young athletes, Ralph and Bob, are brothers. There's a lake in the distance. Competetors look on from behind. There is silence. The athletes are displaying their strength and athleticism, and are having a good time enjoying the sport they love. There are winners and losers. That's it.
